Easter Day Candies
Well today is easter sunday and i tried making some easter candies.Away i messed up some part which is the decoration.I bought white converture chocolate inside of White Fondue Chocolate.Well i tried melting it and the texture of converture chocolate was horrible. It was clumpy.I needed thick and watery texture so that i can decorate the chocolate.Well the chocolate was quite dull without the decoration*No choice*.Well it was messy making the chocolate.I dipped those marshmallows and cherries and strawberries into it and sprinkle some dotted chocolates on the marshmellows...It was difficult to make them have a smooth texture since the chocolate fondue was thick and it was difficult to shake off the excess chocolate on the fruits/marshmallows.Well but it taste quite nice. Will rate 4/5 for taste and 1/5 for decoration.Well 5/10 just pass lol!Bringing it to school tomorrow i made like around 60-70.Around 5-6 of them had cracks and because of that some chocolate fall off lol..And some i accidently dipped the whole strawberry.Well i will try make these again.Might buy a candy tempering chocolate machine.*(Makes chocolate reallly really smooth thin and just nice for dipping food into it)*.Well without them you can temper chocolate too but it'll take a longer time as there is many process and i bet you do not want to do because i'll be sure your kitchen will be covered in chocolate by the time you finish it.
Anyways The Recipe
Fruits/Food of choice :Marshmallows , Apples , apricot , strawberry , blueberries , cherries , raspberry( Please do make sure before dipping them the fruits must be DRY!!!! and for cherries use maraschino cherries they are the same type of cherries where most cake shop use them for decorating purposes)
1 lbs - 1.5lbs dark FONDUE chocolate(Please make sure is Fondue Chocolate.Makes around 60-70 or even 80 + covered fruits...unless you're making apples , after dipping all the fruits and there are left over you can take a baking paper put on a bowl and pour the chocolate over it and freeze it until it harden up.So when u need to use again u can just melt it)
250g of white FONDUE chocolate (Make sure is fondue white chocolate)
Method:
Melt chocolate over a double boiler. If you do not have a double boiler you can pour some water on your frying pan and boil it.After it boils put a sauce pan on top on the water and put the chocolate into the sauce pan and start melting it.After the water boil please turn your fire on the stove to the lowest. You do not want your chocolate overcook .Keep stiring until completely melt.Should have a very smooth texture , thick and watery . You may add some oil to the melted chocolate if the chocolate is too thick.Line a baking paper on your baking tray and after dipping the fruits/marshmallow put it on the baking tray. After you're done dipping all . Put it in the fridge for at least 4 hours.*Note it is better to cover only 3/4 of your strawberries. It'll look appealing. And dont pluck out the grass or whatever it is called on top of the strawberry , will look better*..Well i dont even to take some picture for this because it doesnt look really appealing and i'm not so sastified...Will post another picture if i do some covered fruits candies again(:
