Due to my mom and dad working all day , they hardly have any time to bring me to eat sushi. So recently i felt like eating Japanese Cuisine such as sushi etc..I tried making a Curry Flavored Croquette in other words called Korokke(In Japanese).
Ingredients:
4 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
1/4 lb ground pork
1/2 onion, finely chopped
1 egg
2 tsps curry powder
salt and pepper to season
*flour and panko (breadcrumb) for coating
*vegetable oil for deep-frying
Preparation:Boil potatoes until soften in a large pan. Drain and mash potatoes while they are hot. Saute onion and pork in a medium skillet until cooked. Mix mashed potatoes and onion and pork in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper and curry powder. Make flat and oval-shaped patties. Coat each piece with flour. Dip in beaten egg, and coat with panko at last. Fry in 350 F oil until brown. *
1 Medium Potato is around 150gram
*I didnt not coat the croquette in flour because i tried making one with flour and the skin of the croquette was thick and i did not like it*
Advice : This is a nice dish and you can make a normal croquette without adding the curry powder but my advice is not to eat this too often because the reason why U.S people are usually big in size and fat because potato is the second most consumed food in the U.S.The average American eats 120 pounds of potatoes a year. That is almost 365 per person; or a spud a day.
